Day 1-Why on the weekend?!

Saturday, March 20, 2021.
Weather: Temp: 73/55, Humidity: 76/55%, Top Wind: 12mph, Precip: None, Miles Traveled: 84.5

Captain always tells me that because we’re retired, we DO NOT need to be on the water on a WEEKEND! He’s right. But when you’re on a big giant trip with places to go, sometimes the weather wins the argument. But man! We don’t like the ICW (Intracoastal WaterWay) on the weekends! We rolled out of bed at 7:00 and removed all of our lines, ropes, bumpers, fenders, buoys, whatever -from our home dock. We’ve been renting a spot from our friend Wayne for six years, and it’s very close to our house. But his lot is for sale, and we don’t know if it will still be available to us when we get back in November, so we took everything with us. We love having the boat this close to our home… but we won’t miss all of the tree junk that falls ALL. THE. TIME.! 😏. We tootled away from our spot at about 7:45. It was a bit chilly, so we had long pants, sleeves, and SOCKS on today. 🥶 Good-bye boat dock!

We are sitting in Island Girl at our home dock. The house is all closed up. The boat is packed for long-term living. And here we are! We’ve spent the last month getting things ready to go on our Platinum Loop! And look! She even got new name stickers put on. She needed new stickers on the stern since her whole tail got painted last summer.
