Intermission, then Camping with three Littles

May 20-23: We were home (at our marina) just for a few days for “intermission” between adventures. A couple of things needed to be done before we set off again. But first, son Brian invited us over for a Saturday night smoked-meat dinner. Yum! We took some side dishes and he served up some amazingly yummy smoked tri-tip. We enjoyed the evening with him, Amanda, and little O. And, this is our adorable eighth grandchild with his mommy, enjoying some relaxation in a recliner for a bit. Baby isn’t due to show his face until mid July, but I don’t think he’s going to stay put that long.

5/17/23: Adventures with Stuart

Our objective for adventure today was to take Stuart out for a spin, and hope that he wouldn’t strand us somewhere and we’d end up calling Tow Boat to get us back to Island Girl. We had a leisurely morning just hanging out and enjoying the beautiful weather. I’ve always enjoyed the State Park docks, more than a regular marina. They are always such a nice little temporary community of adventurous like-minded friendly people.

May 2023: Let our summer adventures begin!

After our six week trip across the country, we arrived at Island Girl on Thursday, May 4. We moved all our food and clothes from Nitro to the boat, and settled in to live primarily on our Girl for the summer. We’ll have several camping trips with Nitro, but the majority of our time we’ll be floating.
It has been really super fun getting to know our neighbors in the marina. We kept the Girl at a friends dock in Florida, so we never got acquainted with any other boating neighbors there. It has been delightful to just hang out and get to know some peeps here! And of course, we are closer to our kids now, and we get to go play with them, too!
First up adventure was a Mariner’s baseball game on Sunday afternoon, May 7. They were giving away free plastic wine tumblers to moms as an early Mother’s Day gift, so that was fun! “Geno Grigio”…. for Eugenio Suarez, 3rd base – I think. It’ll probably be useful in one of our traveling homes. AND, the Mariner’s won, which was even better!

May 1-4, 2023: Montana with family: Part 2

Monday started out a little more cloudy, so we had to bundle up a little more to stay warm. Today we headed to the west of town, hoping that maybe we could stay at lower elevations longer to avoid finding too much snow too soon in the day. We started out with a stop at the gas station, then across the highway and out a paved road for awhile. Pretty soon we were crossing a pretty river.
