4/28/24 Onward Ho to Washington

Sunday, April 28, 2024:

Spending the night at: Pickett’s RV Park in Alamo Nevada
$36.32/night with GoodSam discount for nice level pull-through site #5 with 50 amp power, sewer, and supposed to be water, but apparently not at site #5. We didn’t complain since we actually have water in our tanks now, and it flows out of the faucets. Cool concept, huh?

Weather: Cooling down as we go north: Hi 74, low 44, Humidity Hi 64%, low 13%.

We left Stark’s Park around 9:15 or so and headed north. Our route took us through Las Vegas and into no-man’s-land of Nevada. There is a lot of that in this state! But first, we had to drive an hour and a half in California. Shhhh – don’t tell Kenny. He has no use for that state and their $7.00/gallon fuel prices. I texted our daughter, and she said “Does he need a head MRI? Does he know where he is? LOL”. She knows how much he dislikes CA.

10/1 – 10/2/22: On to Utah and Sand Hollow

Saturday morning, we got up and going from our cute little RV Park. Henry was pretty low on diesel, so I routed us to West Wendover to a ’Mudflap’ participating Maverick station. Yesterday we drove roughly 365 miles, and today would be about 375 miles. The terrain is very uppy-downy, so Henry is getting pretty crummy fuel economy.

9/28 – 9/30/22: Time to head south for the winter

Our summer was filled with family, friends, planned and unplanned adventures. We had a ball, and are a little sad to be leaving. But, it’s time to head south before the weather turns to perpetual rain in Washington. We left Island Girl all secure in her slip at Chinook Landing, hopefully prepared for a winter much colder than she’s used to. We loaded out all of our clothes and food to Nitro, and spent Friday night, 9/23 in it at my brother’s house where it has been spending the summer. On Saturday, we left Spanaway for a whopping one hour drive to North Bend to visit with Kenny’s parents while they were visiting other family there. It was so nice to see them and to meet Wanda’s (Kenny’s step-mom) grandkids. Sunday we went to Spokane and spent a few nights with our triplets. What a handful of hams. We had fun, made Hah-ween cookies, and I played a lot with them, including the Hokey Pokey. They think Grama is silly. 🤷‍♀️ Go figure.
