Day 111- Rain and cookies?

Thursday July 8, 2021.
Temp: 74 /62, Humidity: 77/97%, Top Wind: SW10 mph, Precip: rain almost all day

Yes – it rained almost all day as predicted. It was much cooler and so humid! The chef actually whipped up some bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast today! That doesn’t happen very often. Then Kenny set out to wash the boat. It wasn’t raining hard, so the wetness helped with the boat rinsing. I cleaned bathrooms, straightened things up, vacuumed, and baked cookies. Why not?! Monster Cookies. These were always on the list for items that MUST be taken on camping trips when we were raising our kids. Such fun memories!

This was the view out of our windows today.

Kenny finished the boat bath before it really started to pour down hard.

Yes – It was really wet for awhile. We just stayed inside and kept the air conditioning running to try to decrease some of the inside humidity.

By 7:00, it was looking pretty good outside, so we headed out to find the brewery and some dinner. The Riviera Theatre was built in 1926 and is still used as an entertainment venue. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Across the street from it is Prosper Brewing. They only have a couple of their own brews, so we each had just one beverage. They had some food items, but a pretty small menu, so we decided to move along for dinner.

We picked the Dockside Bar & Grill, right by the boats. Our vegan friends on Sabbatical said that it was very good. We weren’t sure we should trust vegans, but we gave it a shot. 😉. Kenny had catfish and I had salmon, and they were both extraordinarily good! Great choice Sabbatical!! Thanks!

Even though we were busy today, it was nice to just be tied up and not have navigational stresses today. Sometimes boat chores are a nice way to spend the day.

I got a call from our new local friend Joe, and he is going to pick us up in the morning and take us to the Falls tomorrow! Yipee! It’s going to be wonderful to have a local guide to show us around. The forecast is still calling for about 45% chance of rain most of the day. We’ll see. I suppose we’ll probably get wet near the falls anyway, right? 😁💦
