This was the best sleep-in day ever. I took a tylenol PM last night, and I was one with the mattress! Let the muscles and brain relax! Ahhhhh. It’s so good to be (almost) home. Although, I picked a marina that has a dozen or so tour boats that come and go ALL DAY LONG. At least it’s calm at night. But during the day, there is constant wave action. And this being the weekend has everybody on the move. There are fishing charters, dolphin watching, sunset cruises, dinner cruises, booze cruises, and pirates!

We relaxed in the a/c all day long, trying to figure out where to go from here and when. We’re waiting on some calls back from marinas. In the evening, we took a walk over to the beach. It was still pretty busy over there! Clearwater has these painted dolphin statues everywhere. I need to snap some more shots of some of them. This one was out on Pier 60. I don’t have any idea where the other 59 piers are.

The beach is big, beautiful, and white sand, just like home.

We didn’t bring chairs over, so we just wandered around. There were a bunch of jewelry and souvenier vendors out on the pier, so it was a festive atmosphere.

We wandered south along the boardwalk looking for a good place for dinner and a beachy drink. There is a road along the boardwalk, and there weren’t any establishments on the beach side of the road until we got a ways down there. Then we found the Opal Sands resort right on the beach, and they had a tiki hut and restaurant. Perfect! We just went in and sat at the bar.

We had a beautiful view of the Gulf and sunset.

I had a beachy drink, and Kenny finally tried a Jai Alai IPA, from Cigar City Brewing in Tampa. It is our son’s most favorite Florida beer and Ken has never tried it. He said it was good, and quite different than what he expected. 🤷‍♀️. I don’t know what that means.

It was fun watching the peeps on the beach. There were couples getting their pictures taken at sunset, and even a wedding couple on the lower left!

The sunset did not disappoint, as we watched the boats come and go. What a great day!

And here is the ultimate Clearwater decompression. Splat!

Tomorrow after all of our time traveler neighbors leave, we’ll (or Kenny will) wash down the boat and try to get some of the salt off. She’s a pretty salty Girl!! The weather is supposed to be really nice tomorrow – temperature less than 80, and humidity dropping down to less than 60%. YAY!!! Thanks to the “cold front” that we were rushing to get here in front of. And hopefully we’ll get a plan put together on what to do next!
