At home and waiting

Friday May 20, I can see that the AAL GENOA has arrived in New Orleans. No idea where she goes from there, or when. We received an e-mail from CCYT that her ETA to Port Everglades is now June 3-4, and Victoria June 23-24. They’ve moved earlier by a day at each end. That’s good!

Monday, May 23 we got another update: Back to ETA’s of June 4-5, and June 24-25. Well, it isn’t changing it much, which is good, and they keep sending updates, so that is good too. I see that our previous ship, the one that is NOT going to Victoria, is arriving at Port Everglades today. 😩 OUR ship, AAL GENOA, is still in New Orleans.

We’ve been getting updates every other day. On Friday 5/27, our update said that AAL GENOA’s ETA to Port Everglades is now June 5-6, Victoria June 25-26. Poo-it’s sliding out later. And I could see that our previous ship (STAR LAGUNA) was now in Freeport Bahamas? Weird! 🤷‍♀️

Saturday 5/28, I saw that CCYT posted on Facebook that the STAR LAGUNA loaded 29 boats in Port Everglades and then made stop in Freeport to load boats going to Hawaii! Ah-HA! They had four yachts in the 88’ – 96’ range in length! So that must be part of the change for why the Victoria boats all got booted onto a different ship, cuz this one is going to Hawaii instead of British Columbia. And you notice that Island Girl really is just small taters at 40’. It also said their next westbound sailing would be Port Everglades to Victoria, June 5-8. Once our ship comes in to Port, I don’t have any idea how long it will be before we’ll be loaded.

I checked our ship’s current location, and she has departed from New Orleans, headed to Savannah. Oh no. All the other ships that I’ve watched that go to Savannah seem to get stuck there, and shipping schedules get delayed. I guess we’ll see. The good thing is that we get an e-mail every-other-day with an update, so at least we know what’s going on, Island Girl is over there and ready, and we’re just a four hour drive away. So when we get the load date and time, we can peel out and get her loaded. So, here’s hoping that it isn’t at 2:00am in a thunderstorm. 😳 Our weather has been moving into summer mode lately, so it’s possible.

Speaking of storms, I see one is brewing in the eastern Pacific near Mexico.

Perhaps it is good that we don’t have a boat headed in that direction this week!

Stay tuned!
